Ze Plane, ze plane!

by Tom Swift

Love — not lament — that people view the world differently than you. The belief that others are wayward is what throws you off your course, not they theirs. You have your own work to do, your own steps to take, your own depth to plumb. Try not to convince others; where they are wrong you can only model the right. To tell is to make the matter about your own needs. Besides, it doesn’t work. People choose who they take their orders from and they actively disregard directives that originate from other sources. More to the point, you lose much energy when you secretly think you have powers you absolutely do not posses. To engage in the fantasy is to fight against the world — it’s to do yourself harm. Which isn’t good for anyone else, either. Think on how much lighter is life when you let go of the desire to be right.
