E Pluribus Unum

by Tom Swift

Peace to all who have lost jobs and businesses through no fault of their own. This is why we have cities, counties, and countries: we cannot always fend for ourselves. We need each other. We have a responsibility to each other. We must demand that our nation be equal to the task before us — that our response be worthy of the people who make and sustain our nation — that at this time our representative err on the side of service. To be without the value or income that comes from work when simultaneously at threat for a life-threatening virus is too much for a person to bear, certainly not alone. At this time, we must remember our motto: Out of Many, One.
