Midnight Moments

by Tom Swift

Cherish the minutes when you find yourself unexpectedly in the quiet dark of a post-midnight hour, that space between your days when you are the only one awake in your world. When you can read and think and breathe. You may wish to be asleep — you may not have wanted to be startled awake — to be asleep at this time was very much the intention — but biology, yours or your little buddy’s, sometimes brings you to a different state. This is not only acceptable but a gift. There is no time like nighttime. Dream. Learn. Delight — in the chance to know you are alive and not alone.
