Morning Moment

You have had a cup of coffee and you have gathered the blanket. It’s going to be a warm day but this early, well before sun-up, it is cool in the house. Your little buddy has been out to do his business and now crests between your legs, resting his head on your shin. You had reached for some words and you had grasped at the day but the stillness just now brings you back. His lungs rise, fall … rise, fall. Your breath makes the blanket move up, down …. up, down.

There is a view that we come into this world to live out an image. The image just now would not have been the one you came in with. It occurs just now that it is the one you would like to leave behind.

The only thing missing is your smile.
