Pleasure Principle

by Tom Swift

“Don’t be a draught-horse! Work with pleasure only.” -Henry Miller, Henry Miller on Writing (1964)

Enjoy the process. And if you’re not remember this: you can always enjoy the process.

One of the most liberating truths is the notion that you can change your mindset.

Your beliefs are always on the table.

For the longest time you regarded your beliefs as static, out of your control, as though ascribed from the gods. This even though, of course, over time you have seen your views on a range of matters change and evolve as you have acquired new information and gained additional life experience.

There is no need to wait. If you’re not happy you can fix that.

No less easily than you can fix a sentence.
